Hundreds of Play-Along tracks, PDF written supplements

Custom Play-Along Tracks help you learn jazz IN CONTEXT with a great band of “sidemen”:

Since music is a collaborative art, I’ve produced hundreds of custom play-along tracks to provide you with “collaborators” who will help you learn jazz improvisation. These tracks make practicing huge fun, give you a groove to play with, and are tailor-made for what we’re working on in the lessons.  I’ve also been known to custom-roll play-along tracks for specific tunes my students are working on (for example, those for an exam in their college jazz class).  Here are 3 examples of the play-alongs in 3 different styles, the best way to learn jazz!:

[mp3t flow=”y” play=”Play” stop=”Stop” autoplay=”n” volslider=”n” title=”G Minor Funk Groove, 106bpm” track=”PlayAlongFunkG.m4a”]
[mp3t flow=”y” play=”Play” stop=”Stop” autoplay=”n” volslider=”n” title=”F Minor Blues, Jazz, 180bpm” track=”JazzFMinorBlues180bpm.m4a”]
[mp3t flow=”y” play=”Play” stop=”Stop” autoplay=”n” volslider=”n” title=”‘Sunny’ Changes in A, Latin, 125bpm” track=”LatinChangesInA125bpm.m4a”]

PDF materials to clarify every concept we discuss in our Skype jazz lessons:

Below is one example of the dozens of PDF materials I send out to help you learn jazz techniques and sounds; here we are discussing the 8-note “Bop Scale”, the REAL building block of jazz solos (not the ‘modes’…!).  MUCH of the way I teach jazz is not what’s taught in improvisation classes around the world.  But my playing didn’t come together until I really understood jazz concepts and set about to learn jazz the way it is ACTUALLY PLAYED.  Concepts like the Bop Scale helped put all my playing in sync with the tune’s harmony, which took all my playing and gave it great leverage, making it sit on the harmony perfectly (see this article I wrote for Keyboard Magazine for more info on this topic!).  Which was GREAT for my confidence!:
